Umm, well, the title pretty much says it all, I think!

The new Search feature in the latest DokuWiki is indexed and should be much faster than before. There was a slight issue with the formatting of the results which I've now fixed.

Thanks to Niko, the OSFlash site now validates and displays correctly under IE.

I had truly forgotten what a royal bitch it can be to work with HTML sometimes...

Working with Niko's new design for OSFlash last night was fun as I was tweaking the style and updating DokuWiki. Today, I noticed that the site wasn't validating as XHTML Transitional. I fixed all but one of the problems: "Byte-Order Mark found in UTF-8 File." Who? What? When? Why? Wassup?

The validator had this to say: "The Unicode Byte-Order Mark (BOM) in UTF-8 encoded files is known to cause problems for some text editors and older browsers. You may want to consider avoiding its use until it is better supported."

Oh, the pain of HTML!

Open Source Flash Mascot ContestWe've scrapped the design contest (now that we have a new design) and are instead holding a contest to determine the OSFlash mascot.

The contest starts... umm... *now*!

It was very cool to see OSFlash at the top of Kevin Lynch's list at his presentation on Web 2.0. Macromedia has been hugely supportive of OSFlash from the very beginning (even releasing their own JavaScript/Flash Integration Kit on OSFlash) and the vibrant Open Source Flash community is an amazing asset to the Flash Platform. (Oh yeah, and the preview of Flex 2/Flex Builder 2 in the video is very exciting too!) :)
