Mike Chambers, Macromedia's ambassador to developers, Flash guru and all-round-nice-guy, will be presenting at the London MMUG tonight. It is your geek-given right to come over and try and make him reveal things about 8ball that he really shouldn't :) We've got lots of pub time scheduled for after the talk to aid you in your efforts!

I had blogged earlier about the grief my Vodafone 3G card was giving me recently and, to add insult to injury, a few days after that post my card just plain stopped working. I took it into the store yesterday and witnessed a most peculiar solution: Putting the sim card in a regular 3G phone and connecting to the Internet fixed the connection problem I was having. FYI, it's something to try if you experience similar issues.

Paul Spitzer has released Flash Log, a plug-in for Eclipse which acts like the Flash output window when used with the Flash Debug Player.

Although Flashout and MTASC provide robust logging capabilities, it's neat to have traces from existing AS files (especially if you inherited them) be displayed.

One of the cool things about having a Napster subscription is that I'm discovering a lot of music that I never would have otherwise (yes, yes, I know, I can't take it with me if I go, so what? I don't want to!) :)

If you've never heard Leonard Nimoy (Spock from the original Star Trek series, in case any of the youngens are wondering) sing "Highly Illogical" or "The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins" then I highly recommend it for a laugh! Someone mentioned William Shatner "singing" Common People on the Brighton New Media list and got me started on this tangent... (Not a bad song that, btw.)

Highly Illogical?

Mark Winterhalder just released a guide to Swfmill that goes far beyond the information in the readme file. It's still a work-in-progress but very useful nonetheless. Thanks, Mark!
