Relief efforts of an unprecedented scale are being organized to help survivors of the catastrophic earthquake and resulting tsunami that has devastated twelve countries in Asia, displacing at least 5 million people and killing over 125,000.

All the major charities are accepting donations. Emilie and I contributed our small share to Oxfam (UK), (US, International), who are also helping with the crisis in Sudan. Apple.com's homepage has links to other US charity sites.

Has your DevNet subscription expired? If so, you may want to write down your serial numbers and download all the software you're entitled to as soon as possible. I just read the following on my (expired) DevNet page:

"On January 15, 2005 Macromedia will disable access to the DevNet portal for expired subscribers. Software downloads, serial numbers, and product resources (including DevNet Resource Kits) will no longer be available through the portal."

London, UK - FlashAnt.org today announced that, effectively immediately, it will be scrapping its current policy of requiring members to request permission to obtain comment posting privileges. According to prolific blogger and part-time Flash guru Aral Balkan (he takes over the night shift when Guy's asleep), this was a move "long overdue."

"The old process was something I implemented hastily is response to a particularly nasty bout of automated blog spam a long time ago and I only just got the chance to hack into the b2 engine and come up with something better." The heavily hacked b2 script is the PHP-based blogging engine that powers Flashant.org.
