I just heard that amazing code guru (and personal friend)
Martin Wood is selling his copy of Flash Communication Server (Personal Edition) on Ebay... Apparently the bidding started at 99p and, as of this writing is at 2.70GBP (that's around $5.) I personally haven't a clue what the reserve price is but Martin told me he was selling it "on the cheap" so if you've been looking for a copy, now might be a good time to check it out :)
For those of you in London, you will remember Martin from the excellent talk he gave at last September's London MMUG Special on run-time data binding. He works for a very cool company called Ideaworks3D (the company behind Optimaze, the vector compression tool for Flash.)

In incorporating the new AS 2.0 remoting classes into the
Ariaware RIA Platform, I ran into a very simple gotcha that others may have come across but which I haven't seen discussed in our neck of the blogosphere:
In order to use the AS 2.0 API, you need to drag one or two components on the Stage -- you can't just import the classes and start using them. The classes are distributed as compiled clips within a library.
