BarCampLondon: Girl Geeks

Super secret look into a girl geek meeting :) We're talking about how to encourage women to attend community conferences and other events. Needless to say, it's a very interesting roundtable discussion.

Good work there with the undercover investigation. I must say the wig and summery dress on you looked quite good, but next time shave those legs - they almost gave you away!

Definitely the most exclusive session at the event! It’s quite scary how well you fit in though, eh?

Chris: Dog gonnit, ‘a knew ‘a forgot somethin’! :)

Frances: Well, Paul and I were talking shoes earlier in the day… :)

1st rule of girl geekdinners is not to talk about girl geekdinner ;)

Aral it was great meeting you. And maybe, just maybe you and Niqui have convinced me about Flash accessability. Still prefer SVG but maybe Flash has its very limited uses. Still wish I’d gone to the Flash bashing session.

    Hey Ian,

It was great meeting you too! I’m guessing I’ll see you at d.construct? We apparently missed the Flash bashing session as the Flex session ran over (I thought it was going to be in the same room we were in but apparently the room had changed.) So people got two sessions of Flex and we were left wondering why no one was bashing us! :)

  7. 7 Nice Paul

I see I’ve even infiltrated your photo of the girl geek session, despite not being a girl. Although it does look suspiciously like I’m doing some knitting… ;-)
