This made the rounds recently but in case you missed it, Adobe is recommending that all users upgrade to the 8.0.24 player. It fixes a critical security issue in players 8.0.22 and lower that could allow the use of a malicious SWF (don't you just love that phrase?) to take control of the affected computer.

I’ve just upgraded to 8.0.24 and now my ‘Flash Plugin Switcher’ has stopped working ;( i.e I can’t revert back to older player versions ;( (tried restarting etc…) has anyone else had issues with this? p ;)
found solution: basically doesn’t look like ‘Flash Plugin Switcher 2.1′ will work with 8.0.24. If others are having probs read this article…

Thanks for the update, Paddy. I experienced some issues with this too but not exactly what you’re describing. (I get errors while switching plugins but once I dismiss the error dialog the correct plugin is installed.)
I’m sure FPS will be updated to fix this. It’s such a valuable tool! :)
