Edwin van Rijkom just announced on the OSFlash mailing list that Screenweaver 3 has been released as Open Source. See the web site on OSFlash, online documentation or jump straight in and download it (setup.3.1.0.0.exe; ~2MB).

  3. Hi maddec — something tells me that they have a special upgrade price for people who purchased v2: Free! :)

  4. ;)

By the way it’s a very good software and I really appreciated few years ago its ease of use and the marvellous support/help center ;) It was worth the investment, it’s just a pity that as customers we weren’t very well treated and we received any news about the disparition of the website and the support/help center, or about an hypotetical version supporting AS 2 and v7 swf…

I’m looking forward to seeing the v3 version improvements and if it could be a serious challenger against Zinc…

    Best regards.

  6. This 3.1.0.0 version is no longer available for download. Now the Screenweaver websites features a new “HX” version instead, which is ultra-cumbersome to use. I mean, you need a tutorial to even just install the thing! WTF?! Whatever happened to the old simple setup EXE that older Screenweaver versions used…

And after following all the instructions it didn’t work. I just got an error message: “load.c(176) : Module not found: app.n”.

Why open source applications have to be so freakingly difficult to use? Thankfully, there are a few exceptions, like Firefox, which I’m using to post this and rocks! But surely Firefox wouldn’t have had such success if people were forced to follow a several step tutorial involving command line commands (not only in the Linux version, but also in the Windows and MacOS version!) to just install the damn thing, which is what’s happening with Screenweaver HX.

Has someone been able to make this new “HX” version of Screenweaver work?!

    LMAO
