One of the cool things about having a Napster subscription is that I'm discovering a lot of music that I never would have otherwise (yes, yes, I know, I can't take it with me if I go, so what? I don't want to!) :)

If you've never heard Leonard Nimoy (Spock from the original Star Trek series, in case any of the youngens are wondering) sing "Highly Illogical" or "The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins" then I highly recommend it for a laugh! Someone mentioned William Shatner "singing" Common People on the Brighton New Media list and got me started on this tangent... (Not a bad song that, btw.)

You might want to check out Brent Spiner’s “Ol’ Yellow Eyes” album which I consider to be a nice listen. The inside pamphlet has some great background on his early years and friendships with some of the music greats.
I would recommend staying away from William Shatner’s rendition of “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” which will make you wish you were a red shirt that just beamed down, but after listening to “Common People”, I’ve elevated my appreciation for his vocal talents.
If you’ve heard the song Ballad of Bilbo Baggins you’ve got to see the music video: http://logarhythm.org/movies/baggins.mov
ROTFL — that’s a great video! :) What is it with Star Trek actors and music videos? There’s one on one of the Voyager DVD sets, either season one or two I think, with Tim Russ (Tuvok) that’s absolutely the worst!
I once listened to William Shatner sing Mr. Tambourine Man. If you want to hear the whole thing, be sure to have a friend tie you to a chair, and then leave the room immediately once it starts to play. Except you don’t want to hear the whole thing. Esp that last part, arrgh…
Imo, you can not consider yourself scarred for life until you have had this experience.
Hi Robin,
I actually tried it… I realize now that my mistake was not being tied to the chair. Thankfully, I managed hit the stop button before I had gnawed too much of my left arm off.
