My friend Stephanie Booth is organizing a one-day conference for freelancers and small business owners in the Internet industry. It's called Going Solo and it's going to take place on May 16th in Lausanne, Switzerland.

I heard Stephanie speak about her experiences in being a freelancer at the LIFT conference in Geneva and she have a very passionate presentation that left me wishing that she had organized the conference seven years ago when I decided to go freelance.

This could have been a real helper a few years back. It’s vital to get good advice from people in the know when starting out in contracting, but usually the only people available are your competitors.
