I'm trying to book a hotel for SXSW and I see that the Hampton Inn is available to Gold, Interactive, and Film registrants. I know Andy had told me that it was sold out so I'm feeling great (someone must have dropped out!) Not believing my luck, I give Andy a call to double-check that it's the same hotel then hastily hang up to finish my order before someone else gets it.
So, I click on the Bedding drop-down and see "zsoldout(3/7-3/11)"

We really appreciate all your feedback about SXSW. The online Hotel Reservation system for SXSW has improved a lot in the last few years — but it still has a long way to go. We will take your comments into consideration over the summer when implementing these improvements. You’re right - zsoldout sucks and we’re hoping to correct that first.
By the way Hampton Inn Downtown was sold out this year for 3/7-3/12 on August 28th - the first hotel to sell out this year. After that, people cancelling and making changes has allowed another 10 or so to get in through SXSW. We have a waitlist. Contact housing {at} sxsw(.)com if you would like to be on it.
